This service is open to all dog owners — you do not need to purchase a puppy from Pups of Hope.
Whether your dog came from a breeder, a rescue, a shelter, or has been your companion for years, we can help you get them officially registered as an Emotional Support Animal and receive the ESA licence. We connect you with a licensed mental health professional and handle every step from evaluation to your official ESA letter and ID card — all for a one-time fee of $200. No subscription, no ongoing charges, and no prior purchase required.
The Registration Process
Emotional support animals provide documented therapeutic benefit to individuals managing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health conditions. Under the Fair Housing Act, a valid ESA letter from a licensed mental health professional grants your dog housing accommodations even in no-pet buildings. Our service makes obtaining that letter straightforward, compliant, and stress-free.
Step One
Complete our brief online questionnaire about your mental health history and your relationship with your dog. This information is kept strictly confidential and shared only with the evaluating clinician.
Step Two
A licensed mental health professional in your state reviews your questionnaire and conducts a telehealth evaluation. If you qualify, they issue a signed ESA letter on their professional letterhead.
What You Receive
- Official ESA letter signed by a licensed mental health professional in your state
- Physical and digital ESA identification card with your dog’s photo
- Certificate of registration suitable for presenting to landlords and housing authorities
- Guidance document explaining your rights under the Fair Housing Act
- One year of renewal support and letter updates at no extra charge
The entire process typically takes 48 to 72 hours from questionnaire submission to letter delivery. We work with licensed clinicians in all 50 states, ensuring your letter meets your state’s specific requirements. If you do not qualify after evaluation, you receive a full refund — no questions asked. This service is open to all dog owners nationwide — you do not need to have purchased or adopted a puppy through Pups of Hope. Anyone with a dog can register and pay for the ESA licence.
Having Luna officially recognized changed everything — my landlord stopped pushing back immediately, and I finally feel secure in my home.
